When your initial follow-up contact doesn't bring immediate results, it's important to exercise patience while waiting to hear back about a job. There could be competing priorities, someone out of the office, or other interviews going on. I suggest first waiting four or five business days after the date you were told to avoid being annoying. That never goes well.
